Multi-disciplinary Engineer (Office based)

Function description

Full-time - Engineering department - Hoofddorp Office - the Netherlands

You will be part of the Engineering department/team at the Hoofddorp office (the Netherlands). The department is mainly involved in project engineering, conceptual design and commercial engineering assistance.

The Engineer is a multidisciplinary role which is mainly involved in engineering for our Operations department, Commercial department and Project engineering assistance. Feasibility studies, tenders, pre-qualifications, Engineering Change Requests and the assistance of docking preparations belong to the day to day activities.

Work location is primarily office based. Offshore and on-site visits may be included over time.

- Resolves technical queries and recommends solutions to engineering problems.
- Prepares and processes vessel modification proposals and/or liaises with the different departments on these modifications.
- Provides technical specifications when required
- Creates clear basis of (concept) design for activities executed both internally as by third parties.
- Prepares method statements, proposals, drawings, plans and reports.
- Performs or coordinates structural-, stability-, and motion design calculations.
- Assists in the technical/operational support to the Tender Manager and attends Tender meetings.
- Delivers on-site engineering service during dockings, surveys and projects.
- Liaises with offshore representatives to verify feasibility of design and requirements.
- Works on optimizing asset employability to enhance market position and to meet client requests.




- Minimum Bachelor degree in Marine technology, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Naval architect or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of operational, offshore- or O&G experience and 2 years or experience at engineering level.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, engineering and project software is preferred (MS Office, AutoCAD , Inventor, RFcm or other Finite Element software).
- Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken.
- You have strong team-player skills but can work independently.
- You have good communication / reporting skills and a problem solving but result oriented attitude.
- You are familiar with offshore / maritime legislation and regulations.
- You are a Dutch resident/living in the Netherlands.
