Seafox Operations BV is an established company in the offshore market with professional and ambitious personnel. Day to day onshore operations are combined in offices in the Netherlands and the Middle East. Together they service the Seafox fleet that are united in the Seafox Group.
Function description
The Purchasing Department at our Ijmuiden office plays a critical role in managing Seafox's procurement and logistics processes. Our small but dynamic team, comprising a Purchase Manager and Purchaser, ensures continuous supplier management and timely delivery of materials.
The Purchaser is responsible for co-ordinating and carrying out activities related to the onshore aspects of purchasing such as requisition processing, cost evaluations, quality control, on time delivery assurance and related documentation.
Work location is primarily Ijmuiden office based but may include offshore and on-site visits.
General Tasks:
- Carry out assigned work in line with company policies and procedures.
- Share updates and insights with the team to ensure we're aligned with industry trends.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
- Demonstrate leadership in safety and environmental practices.
- Promote sustainable practices, minimizing waste, energy consumption, and emissions.
Purchasing Tasks:
- Issue Requests for quotations to suppliers and evaluate the best suppliers in terms of price, lead time, and reliability.
- Convert requisitions into purchase orders.
- Monitor order progress, ensuring quality, lead time, and delivery.
- Resolve discrepancies between orders and invoices.
- Liaise with the Offshore Material Coordinators to ensure stock levels are optimized.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of purchase orders, requisitions, quotes, and other documentation.

- Knowledge of transport logistics by air and sea.
- Ability to interpret purchase-related documents and contracts.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in technical buying or purchasing
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken
- Self-confident & good social abilities
- Hands-on and pro-active attitude
- Good planning and organization skills
- Offshore or marine background is a plus
